ロリン・オイカワ サーリー・フュージョン・フェスティバルの日本・日系人パビリオンで、日系カナダ人の話を書いたバナーを熱心に眺めている女性がいました。このパビリオンは日系人コミュニティーと一緒に私が企画したものです。私はこの女性に、出品物はサーリー博物館の特別展示に使われたものだと説明しました。すると女性は「私はサーリーに長く住んでいますが、日系人の話を聞いたことがありませんでした。もっとたくさんの人が日系人の話を聞くべきです。」と答えました。私は女性に私もそう思う、実は私は日系四世でサーリーで育ったと伝えました。
