Japanese Canadian Pavilion at the Surrey Fusion Festival

For those in Metro Vancouver, make sure you drop by the Japan / Japanese Canadian Pavilion at the Surrey Fusion Festival on Saturday July 23 and Sunday July 24 starting at 11 a.m. in Holland Park in Surrey. It’s free admission. Say hi to NAJC President Lorene Oikawa who is managing the Pavilion. She helped to collect the stories of Japanese Canadians in Surrey for the Museum of Surrey special exhibit. Some of the materials will be at the Pavilion. There are also other materials and displays from GVJCCA, Nikkei National Museum, Tonari Gumi &  Consulate General of Japan (Vancouver). Learn about the art, culture, and history of Japan and Japanese Canadians, and travel tips (and maps and guides) for visiting Japan. We will have demos of origami, Japanese paper folding & you can take home your own creation. There are other countries’ pavilions and stages with all sorts of entertainment & music. Join the fun! We hope to see you!  surreyfusionfestival.ca
