\nLed by our Next Generation team, this community building event honours Roger Obata, the founding president of the NJCCA-NAJC. Obata organized games between JC and Indigenous teams in the 1930s in Prince Rupert, BC. An outgoing, team player through his lifetime, Obata was VP of the NAJC when redress was achieved. It will be a fun and friendly day combining athletics, authors, art, activism and more.<\/p>\n

\nA more competitive all gender 5-on-5 game.\u00a0It\u2019s suggested that participants for the 5-5 game have played organized basketball at the high school level or higher, or equivalent experience outside\u00a0of an organized setting.<\/p>\n

To remember the game organized by Roger Obata we have extended complimentary invitations to Indigenous participants. There is no charge for spectators or for entry to the community fair. Please contact us if you require a fee accommodation for other reasons.<\/p>\n

There are limited spots available for JC or Indigenous authors, artists, artisans or organizations to promote their activities at no charge. For any and all information contact torontonajc@gmail.com<\/a><\/p>\n
