In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Japanese Canadian Internment, Honourable Claire Trevena, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, will be unveiling the second of seven Highway Legacy Signs for the Internment Site clusters and Roadcamps for the Self-supporting sites of East Lillooet, Bridge River, Minto, and McGillivray Falls.
This joint ceremony between the District of Lillooet and the Japanese Canadian community will also open the Japanese Canadian Internment Memorial Garden, which was created to commemorate the site. Please join us on this historic occasion to share our history and to celebrate collaboration and partnership to achieve this wonderful memorial legacy.
