NAJC BC Redress Consultation Update

NAJC Announces the Scheduling of Online and In-Person Consultations on BC Redress

The National Association of Japanese Canadians (NAJC) consultations on BC Redress, funded by the Province of British Columbia, is now in full swing. Three consultations have now been held, and ten more consultations have now been scheduled throughout British Columbia and across Canada. To see a full listing and to register for any of these consultations, please visit www.najc.ca/bcredress.

In addition to these in-person consultations, the NAJC is pleased to announce that registrations are now open for anyone wishing to participate in our on-line consultations. These consultations have been scheduled for:

June 24 and July 9, 2019 at 6:30 PM PDT for residents of British Columbia

June 26 and July 17, 2019 at 4:30 PM PDT for anyone that is not a resident of British Columbia.

All on-line consultations will be held using the Zoom.us platform, and are limited to a maximum of twelve participants. Should these sessions fill up, additional sessions will be organized in the future. The sessions are intended to solicit feedback on the question:

What should the Government of British Columbia do to redress its history of racial discrimination and unjust actions that devasted the Japanese Canadian community?

For further information about these consultations, please contact our Executive Director, Kevin Okabe at ed@najc.ca.
