“あなたの経験はいかがでしょうか?”

カナダ生活において、文化や価値観の違い、言葉の壁、子育て、国際結婚、地域社会との関わり合い、就職活動、精神衛生 (メンタルヘルス)、人種差別,  等の困難に直面されたことはありますか? カナダにおける多様文化社会  (マルチカルチャリズム) とはなんでしょうか?  成功談、役にたったサポート、あるいは新移住者への助言なども含めてお互いの適応経験を分かち合いしましょう。鹿毛真理子さんをはじめ、移住者の方々数人をゲストとして招きそれぞれユニークな経験談を語っていただきます。

ゲスト 鹿毛真理子: 東京育ち。中学生でカナダに移住後、拒食症など異文化適応の悩みを経て、UBCで学んだ後に米国で結婚と留学。ISS Translators Inc. などで学ぶ。96年 に合気道初段修得。97年に再び来加、国際結婚ワークショップなどの企画と通訳、人権委員会、JCCAの活動、病院での通訳に携わる。先住民の部落D’Arcy に6年間在住、地域青年少年環境問題活動に専念。2008年以来Lillooetに在住、地域の日系カナダ人関係のプロジェクトの立ち上げに関わりながら青少年育成と援助等の仕事などで活躍。2012年合気道二段修得、7児の母。現在は多文化間国際コミュニケーション大学院修士課程在学中。

How is your experience since coming to Canada? Do you have success stories? What was helpful for you? What can you advise newcomers? Have you been challenged with issues such as: lifestyle adjustments, differences in culture and values, language barriers, parenting (relationships with your children), intermarriage, connecting with local communities or services, employment, subtle discrimination, etc.? Are you interested in an orientation/discussion around “What is Multiculturalism?”

Although this Zoom meeting is conducted in Japanese, those who can hear and understand Japanese are most welcome to join. (90 minutes session)
